Doppler Radar Saves the Day

I KNEW THAT with coming to a new place and like that, I couldn't afford to forgo any memories so this is going to end up being some online memoir, i s'pose.

Lin came over yesterday night to watch Football..i dunno what the hype is about NFL but it's got the men in at least THIS family all wired up. It is pretty amazing to watch the PEOPLE watching football. ( oh, and they insist that soccer is NOT football ) We ended up watching Sean of the Dead again cos it was so hilarious the first time we saw it, that we wanted Lin to see it too. He stayed the night on my Lazy Boy chair all cosy in the leopard motif fannel blanket that Cindy had given me last Christmas.

You know how I have the small TV to the side while I'm doing stuff on the puter..and there's hardly anything good on during the afternoons, but today was one day i was sooo grateful i had it passively in the background cos suddenly there were these SEVERE THUNDERSTORM alerts and like that, and i saw on the Doppler Radar that there was a horrendes strip of storm coming from the West towards us. David and I scurried off to seal off any leaky windows and like that and were hardly done when the first drops descended on us. It RAGED AND RAGED for all of 15 minutes, but man, i'm glad we batted down the hatches good.

We got some recipe ( chinese, what else ) books from Ross the other day and so i tried one of the recipes for dinner, Leek & Ginger Fish which to me turned out disastrous cos the texture of the fish turned kinda mushy and i knew david would not like it, but after tasting it, he said that it wasn't too bad and proceeded to eat a whole bunch! Which was really sweet, cos i know how he can get with fish.
