Lost In Space

IT HAS BEEN MORE than 6 months since i last blogged...have been blogging in my sister's web site TanFamily... Anyway, in these 6 months a lot has happened and at the same time, yet nothing has happened..it's kinda weird, actually. These past few days seem to have been eventful though.

Today :

Had brunch with Walter, Lin, Mike & Steph, Shanna & Elizabeth, Todd & Sabrina & Tyler & Holly at United Supermart..i forget the name of the place right now but it's a deli/food place right in United itself. Pretty cool. I wore my red striped snaps with the Pendleton Vest deal. I couldn't decide how to do my hair. I'm too conscious of how i look for life sometimes. Told the girls that I had got not ONE but FOUR bridal magazines to peruse and they were excited...it was funny cos EACH of them asked me if i had read every one of em. I mean, i got home at like 10 pm! David wore his new blue Ross shirt with the sleeve cuff deal turned over to reveal some pretty light red/pink paisley thingies. He likes it and got compliments from the girls, but i thought it was a little "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" but still nice nevertheless. He says he's the girls' weird uncle, so getting compliments from them and being more "stylish" than their husbands was kinda cute...hehehe.

Afterwards, we went to visit Frances at the Nursing home..she was weak and couldn't even hold her head up, which i thought was too sad. At one point, Lin went over, sat with her and held her head up for her. I think at that point, Walter was trying to hold back tears. I sat next to Shanna and listened to her for the Alto cue and i think i sang pretty well that time considering i was teaching myself to read the notes!

Yesterday Dec 4th 2004

Went swimming with Cindy at ACU..it was an indoor pool and heated! It was just glorious, swimming in the heated pool in the Fall. We swam for about an hour and i swam like 20 laps..i didn't strain myself seeing how out of shape i was but i WAS surprised that i wasn't as out of shape as i had thought i was. I don't even ache today! Which is totally shocking :)

Shanna invited us over to Stephanie's place for Shanna's 35th birthday, so we went for a mad dash to Ross' to look for a present for her. David wanted to get her a blouse/jacket thing but my argument was that you never know what people's tastes are in clothes and we didn't know her size. I mean, i didn't want to get her something that she would absolutely hate and stash in her closet for the rest of its natural life! In the end, we got her a journal thingy in what looked like a hat box from yesteryears - it had a journal thing, a photo album and some cards and envelopes which were all in the same motif. We then stopped by the Dollar Tree to add balloons and ribbon bows to the repertoire.

We had a good time there..and the guys esp Tony, tried to scare me with a silly ghost joke thing on the internet, which luckily i had seen like a gazillion times otherwise i would have like pissed in my pants. Anyway, the girls and i got to talking and decided that it was best for me to get bridal magazines first so i would have a better idea what to discuss with them the next time.

Woke up REALLY early to go for bible study class with Cindy at her friend, Danisha's ( in Taylor County? ) in Hamby, about 4 minutes away from us, i guess ( We're in Shackleford County ). Had a good time there, studying the first 2 chapters of Luke. Danisha really makes it simple to understand and gives the timeline and background on stuff so i felt like i really really learnt something. After which, we went to the Abilene Zoo for a while and then to Harvest Moon for Chinese Food, where we met Vita and her ahem boyfriend, Ricardo..heheheheheh. One of the weird American-Chinese food they had there was Fried Cheese Won Ton!!!!!
