Critters of the World Beware

I never noticed much roadkill...

in Malaysia before except the occasional dog or cat,
but because we live about 7 miles out of the city, each time we go into town or to David's dad's, I can't help but notice all the ROADKILL that is out there!

It is even a game with some to keep count on family trips etc..Maybe it's the large amount of semi trucks/18 wheelers that travel the highways of America as well as deer and skunks that have not ever been schooled in road traffic rules..but I really hope this picture is a joke.

Heh... my favorite joke when I lived in Texas was:
Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?
A: To prove to the armadillo it could be done!

Such a shame isn't it? I hate to see roadkill--especially pets and deer. I mean, they wouldn't leave a dead person out there. It is awful!

Hmmm, that can't be serious...

You can't kill a deer on the road, without _damaging_ part of the _automobile_

Letti: good observation. I would point out that Americans in the South (especially in Texas) seem to kill far more animals on the road than in other places. There are a lot of reasons for this: semi-tropical weather (so more animals), sprawling cities with no fences on highways, and don't forget: outright unnaturally mean people who run over animals on purpose. I was born in Alabama, where maggot-infested dead dogs and the like were a daily sight. I now live in Seattle, where I see *maybe* two dead animals a year on the road.
