Henry Update

I had never had a dog of my own..

Back in Malaysia, there was the family dog, Yoyo, but I was hardly at home enough ( away studying ) to have anything to do with its ( lack of? ) training and general well being.

With Henry, however, I'm learning about him just as he's learning about me and although he's a wonderful puppy, i wish he'd just "chill" sometimes! *laugh*

I wonder what he's thinking

Puppies only chill when they pass out - which, fortunately they do often.
All puppies are wonderful.
All puppies grow up and become dogs.
Puppies do not think, that might mean they'd learn something.
Puppies love you with all thier miniscule hearts.
They do this hoping you won't kill them.

You should start puppy training right away. They can learn sit/stay, stop, come and most simple obiendience commands - they learn them and do spend time playing with them and defying you.
Just remember that the puppy really does love you, and, yes, that behavior is love.

He's so pretty. Puppies just want to play and be cute. Now I want a dog. Sigh, too bad I don't have time for one.

Yoyo reminds me of a 1980s Malay children programme called Mat Yoyo but Yoyo was a cat in the show.
Is that pose of Henry's called the pointer ?

Aww Yoyo is such a cute name! :) And your puppy now is adorable! Precious looking... I betcha he's think "awww this is the life, I love being loved" hehe. :)

Hi Letti, I am no good at identifying dogs but looking at the size of Henry now, I think he is going to grow up a huge dog?

If that's a Chesapeake you will have your hands full for months :)

Puppies are like children. More like infants. They are so demanding and needy. They also take awhile to get potty trained. Couldn't do the puppy thing right now.... so got a cat. Only down side? Can't take her to the park and she doesn't fetch.

Send me the picture of your wedding dress if you can find one. I love looking at them.

Hi Letti. Such a sweet puppy. What he's thinking about is whether that odor is something that he should chase, pee on, or eat :-). I shamelessly plagiarized the following from another blog to give you a smile:

How Many Dogs Does It Take To Change A Light Bulb?

Golden Retriever:

The sun is shining, the day is young, we've got our whole lives ahead of us, and you're inside worrying about a stupid burned out bulb?

Border Collie:

Just one. And then I'll replace any wiring that's not up to code.

Dachshund:

You know I can't reach that stupid lamp!

Rottweiler:

Make me.

Boxer:

Who cares? I can still play with my squeaky toys in the dark.

Lab:

Oh, me, me!!!!! Pleeeeeeeeeze let me change the light bulb!

Can I? Can I? Huh? Huh? Huh? Can I? Pleeeeeeeeeze, please, please, please!

German Shepherd:

I'll change it as soon as I've led these people from the dark, check to make sure I haven't missed any, and make just one more perimeter patrol to see that no one has tried to take advantage of the situation.

Jack Russell Terrier:

I'll just pop it in while I'm bouncing off the walls and furniture.

Old English Sheep Dog:

Light bulb? I'm sorry, but I don't see a light bulb.

Cocker Spaniel:

Why change it? I can still pee on the carpet in the dark.

Chihuahua:

Yo quiero Taco Bulb.

Pointer:

I see it, there it is, there it is, right there ...

Greyhound:

It isn't moving. Who cares?

New Zealand Sheep Dog:

First, I'll put all the light bulbs in a little circle...

Poodle:

I'll just blow in the Border Collie's ear and he'll do it. By the time he finishes rewiring the house, my nails will be dry.

The Cat's Answer:

"Dogs do not change light bulbs. People change light bulbs. So, the real question is: How long will it be before I can expect some light, some dinner, and a massage?"

All of which proves, once again, that while dogs have masters, cats have staff.

Awww what an adorable little puppy. And if you think puppies are bad.. lmao you should see a kitten or two. Pure hellians they are. Spray bottles (water only) work fairly well when training them. Whenever he's doing something bad just point and squirt. Won't hurt him but it'll startle him enough for him to stop whatever he's doing. After that he'll associate spraying water with badness and stop altogether ;)

He's beautiful.

He looks like a chocolate lab. Is he pure?

I have a chocolat lab nearing his 3rd year of life and he STILL hasn't chilled out.

Sometimes he sleeps, but most of the time he wants to play.

Sooo cute. My parents have a Spitz. And he's so tiny and cuuute.

Labs are brainless. Good natured, but they don't "grow up" until they're at least 4. Good luck!
