It finally happened..

I had a wedding nightmare

I dreamt ..
  • everyone was in the wrong clothes
  • we didn't have a rehearsal, so the whole sequence was awkward
  • my bridesmaids, flower girl and ring bearer didn't even have a chance to be in the procession
  • the wedding was over before i noticed the photographer was NOT present
It was a few days back that I dreamt this, so it's all a bit fuzzy now. I've relaxed as far as wedding preparations go, coz apparently, in my "frantic"ness, I seem to have covered most bases so now I'm concentrating on different things...

maybe it was all that news about the runaway bride from Georgia which sparked all of this....

I'm so glad I didn't have a wedding!! I'm one of those strange ones who never wanted one. But I can see how it can be stressful.

:) guess it's natural? to dream of something like that because you are so much into the preparation already? Don't worry, pretty sure you've got most of it right down to a pat! :)

Please don't forget to breathe! :)

Mmm ... so the pressure is finally getting to you, I guess. It's just natural.
We had the simplest wedding you can imagine, but still my husband had bad dreams the night before while I most prbably did too, just that I tend to forget all my dreams in general.
So, it's good to ask yourself to relax.

Just came across your blog as I was browsing. I'm glad you're here! I'm a fellow M'sian who also started off in Abilene 5 years ago for school at ACU. Of all places, huh? Hehe... I've since moved to Dallas, but still have strong 'ties' in Abilene and go there every now and then. Anyway, nice to hear about your experiences and congrats on getting married! ~Debbie Leong-Villarreal

Just think that all those things are happening in your dream and since they can't possibly happen twice, you're home free on your wedding day. Of course, you didn't dream that your dress had caught fire, or the groom arrived a day late... just kidding. :) Get all the stress out of the way while you can so when the day comes, you can enjoy it.

Awww... don't let it bother you...
every wedding has _something_ go Wrong, but it doesn't matter, you don't care because it's YOUR day. And even if something goes wrong, it's still perfect. And then, of course, you will have something to laugh at later.

Mine for example...
-- Bridesmaids dresses were not ready until two days before - we were all having panic attacks
-- The pianist took it upon himself to 'jazz' up music and ended up making lots of mistakes.
-- The pianist played the bride announcement too early and everyone stood for the ring bearer.
-- Our flower girl refused to go down and had to be walked around the outside aisle to her parents (my in-laws)
-- We forgot to blow out the single candles when we lit the unity candle.
-- The flower girl then exited the church with us, so there were three of us going down the aisle
-- My veil fell out _right_ after the ceremony and refused to go back in
-- Half of the bridesmaids and groomsmen missed stuff during the reception because they were outside fooling around (maid of honor never got to give a toast)
-- My sisters-in-law got out of their dresses and into jeans before we were done with pictures and we had to wait for them to get dressed again
-- The best man showed up with this: http://spoken-for.org/wedding and they all had to fool around (the one wearing it is my little brother)

And the big one...

The best man acted like he'd lost the ring who turned to the next guy who did the same who turned to my brother-in-law who did the same who turned to my other brother-in-law who brought out a Cracker Jacks box with the ring inside it.

Heh.

So things go wrong, but you just can't let it get to you. Just relax and go with the flow and your day will be AWESOME no matter what!!

Oh, my new sister-in-law tripped on her dress at her wedding. Everyone just laughed, even her :-)

it can be quite frightening, having a nightmare. but when we open the eyes and realised it was just a bad dream, things will be normal again.

i had my share of wedding nightmares.

-held at an ocean resort nearing christmas, the tides were too high.
-the ceremony was in a garden and the altar at the gazebo, in the middle of the ceremony, it rained. everybody crowded in.
-the groom was not given a pillow to kneel to so his pants got wet
-while the bride was being walked down towards the altar, kids were playing with the frogs by the river near the gazebo.
-it was a night reception by the garden, because it rained, some seats and tables got wet.
-during the money dance, the music playing was terribly awful both the bride and groom dislike it. the dj forgot the assigned discs to play.
-and i thought this was the worst, when the doves were set free, they both fell directly to the floor, it turns out, the organizer forgot to untie the wings before the ceremony (tied for travelling purposes)
- the worst and the real nightmare was... they got divorced after 5 years because the groom was a wife-beater.

tssk.

just be careful ok, and pray for a good man. whatsoever happens on your big day, what is important is the one who you are to marry.

I was the best man at a wedding without a rehersal and the bride wouldn't shut up. I wanted to strange the little control freak. (Oh the marriage didn't last long but it was doomed from the start. Everyone knew it)
