I've been GHOSTED!

*spooky voice* Tag Time (HEHE)

Okay, I've been tagged by the puking pumpkin via ashley and now I'm tagging 2 others....

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Here's the instructions :

  • Stop by their blogs and leave a comment on their latest post saying, "You've Just Been Ghosted -- Come Over And Grab A Puking Pumpkin!"
  • Copy and paste the puking pumpkin somewhere on your blog (either in a post or on your sidebar, perhaps) so that everyone can see that you have been "ghosted" and will not "ghost" you again. This will also let you know who you can "ghost."
  • Link to this post (or a post of your own) for directions, grab the puking pumpkin and go "ghost" 2 bloggers on your sidebar (preferably, somewhere you haven't commented in a while or a blog you've never commented before or new to the blogosphere) and share some linky love!

It will be fun to see how many "puking pumpkins" appear in the blogosphere by Halloween.

Okay, Tara and Soohk, you've been tagged!!!

Stop these Palpitations, please!

It's nowhere near any exam i'm supposed to take yet,

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

but I've just recently got some review books for the USMLE ( US Medical Licensing Exam), and have started studying to get licensed in the US..

so in addition to having to deal with a rusted brain and biochemistry and everyday household chores, pets, etc, I now have to deal with exam and internship nightmares. It's been at least 3 times this week.

*sigh*

p/s: in reply to Sam's question, every doctor who comes to the US, even if they were a NEUROsurgeon back in their home country, HAS to take these exams if they wanna be a doctor in the US....*BLEH!!!*

Go Greased Lightning!!!!

Ah.....nothing like a lazy Sunday afternoon watching Grease in my room..

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

(while the hubby watches Football in the living room)

It had been a favourite movie of mine since the time when, at the "tender" age of 7, my parents brought us to the cinema to watch Grease, and whenever a song came on, I would run to the middle aisle and start belting along with John, Olivia and the rest of the gang, in all my 7 year old splendour.....

I bet my family made like they didn't know who I belonged to all through the movie...*laugh*

which brings us to the OTHER topic for today, CRAZY DOGS..

Just to recap, we have 4 ( yes, FOUR ) dogs..
  1. Henry's the indoor spoilt one,
  2. Missy's the hardworking one who's out of doors on a 50 foot chain ( and yes, she has a kennel ) to help scare rose-bush-munching deers away,
  3. and there's the Rottweiler twins who are in an enclosure in the side yard.

It seems like Missy's made a new friend, a brown/white dog who loves hanging around her and hogging her kennel, and eating her food...and running loose around our house.

Usually, when I bring Henry out in the morning to pee, I don't need a leash coz he's kinda groggy that early and will just plod back into the house absentmindedly and there're no distractions.

NOT now though.. Not with Mr. I'm-Missy's-New-Best-Friend around.

Picture this
  • It's raining and cold outside.
  • I'm in my house slippers and fuzzy pink bathrobe, standing by the door, waiting for Henry, yawning.
  • Henry spots Mr. New Guy and runs off with him.
  • I grab a scabby hat and run after him, pink bathrobe and all.
  • Henry of course, thinks it's a game and runs away even harder. ( with accomplice, Mr. New Guy )
  • I end up looking like a big wet pink dish rag.

*sigh*

Ding Dong...

David had to go to the post office today.

Why?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Because there was a little note in our mail box that said that we had 4 packages which, because (apparently) we did not hear the mail person ( have to use genderless speech here, coz sometimes it's a mailman and sometimes it's a mailwoman -- er, is there even such a word ) knock on our door at 8.00 A.M. , we had to now travel into town ( it's only 6 miles to the edge of town, but still! ) to get our packages.

That was too weird because of several things..

1. Our mailperson NEVER comes at 8.00 A.M. ( 11.30 a.m. sounds about right )

2. She almost ALWAYS leaves the packages by the door - she knows us well enough by now - if we're not home or don't answer the door for some reason and even if it's with delivery confirmation. The only time she wouldn't leave it would be when it needed a signature.

3. None of the packages that were retrieved at the post office required a signature.

4. Yada yada

So, while David was out, he stopped by Walmart and got us a Door Chime/Bell. It would never have occured to me to do that, only because I had never lived in a house that HAD a doorbell back in Malaysia.

After I moved to the States, because lifestyles and habits are quite different between the two countries, sometimes I would think up things which David would not have thought of ( rare occasions ) but most of the time, things happen around me that require solutions that I would NEVER have thought of, just because I did not have those things around me when I was back in Malaysia.

Like last winter - I didn't think of wool caps or gloves till it got cold and I was freezing ( well, maybe not FREEZING, but close ) my ears and fingers off.... in the house! ( hey, I was acclimatizing )

Well, we live and we learn.

Now if only our doorbell wouldn't give us a heart attack jolting us out of bed.

Happy New Year and Happy Fasting !!

I would have forgotten if David had not reminded me..

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

that today is Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, which made me remember that it was also the first day of the Ramadan or start of the fasting month for Muslims.

( click on the left pic for more info on Rosh Hashanah and on the right pic for more info on Ramadan )

So, for all our Jewish and Muslim friends, here's wishing you glad tidings and wishing you many blessings!
