I don't care what anybody says

But this strikes me as real creepy

Mr. & Mrs. Jones Citrus Juicers
Polly George, 2003

Take a turn with a lemon or lime on the heads of this delightful duo and watch the juice flow. Made in from hand-made white ceramic and tactile glaze, this playful porcelain pairing is also ideal for dipping sauces. Hand-wash only. Set of two.

AND IT COSTS 100 bucks, for crying out loud.
I'll let my fingers do the squeezing, thank you very much.

David Copperfield

An Intimate Evening of Grand Illusion

Went for a date with David on Monday to watch the Master himself ( David still maintains Houdini will never be surpassed ). They didn't allow cameras/video/audio in the auditorium, and I didn't wanna get into trouble, so I managed to find some pics online that were of the show and thought I'd share them with everyone .. they're exactly like what we saw at the show, which was very entertaining and pretty awesome.

David Copperfield as I remembered him ( when I was a teen, of course ) - cute, even with the funky Richard Marx hair

Appears on Stage on a Motorcycle!

Gasp!

He did all sorts of illusions, using many audience members ( many whom were planted, I am sure ), throwing out frisbees and balls and even pickles to us to "give the illusion" of randomness..he's a great frisbee thrower if he managed to get them at all his planted audience members...

Squeezed himself into a tiny space, disappeared and reappeared from different parts of the auditorium, card tricks with a deadly scorpion, passed through a sheet of metal and transporting an audience member and him ( with a polaroid picture taken right before "beaming up", of several audience members from that night to vouch for the authenticity of the "beaming uppedness" ) to Perth Australia with Live Feed going on from there....

Also, there was the impregnating of a woman on stage without even touching her, and Webster his duck was used for several of the illusions but the one that wowed me was when he made a classic convertible car appear onstage amidst a dozen witnesses from the audience..

MY David and his brother have attempted to figure out some of the illusions etc, but I REFUSE TO BE DISILLUSIONED!!! ( Pun intended ) I want to remain in awe of magic and continue to be captivated by even the simplest sleight of hand illusions...

Home and Gardening

I'm getting more domesticated ( Part ?? )

I used a lawnmower for the first time ever last week, to trim our front lawn - I told David to show me the ropes because every girl wants her house to NOT be some "Curb Non-Appeal Disaster", and we usually let it get too long before something is done to it.

So we revved up the trusty lawn mower and I mowed to my heart's content. It was wonderful to see the grass cut short and even, with all the weeds that had shown in between just crushed in the blink of an eye, and oh, the smell of freshly cut grass....

Anyway, from all the downpour and fertilizer that david had put down ( our lawn's only a year old, but was already getting some baldy patches ), it has shot up like crazy again....

Well, I'll probably let it grow another week or so before I venture to mow it down again.

Mowing can be hard work!

Prepare to be Dazzled..

Guess who we have tickets to go watch...

After the Storm

Everyone and Everything was safe..

Here's a video clip of us driving over to David's dad's place as the storm approaches from the West

Here's a video clip of us STUCK IN WALMART after leaving david's dads, during the second onslaught of the night.

Thanks for your concern, it definitely was scary, but we are definitely planning and getting into motion a storm cellar on our property.

Thank you Lord! Continue to keep us safe through the crazy spring weather...Amen.

Surrounded by Bad Weather

We had to flee our house last night,

when there was tornado warning after tornado warning after tornado warning all around us from this humongous thunderstorm.

We like to call our present house our "practise house", before we actually build our "real actual final" home if/when we settle in the final place where I would hopefully be practising medicine. So, we bought a double wide and plopped down on our property. Hence, it's not going to be all that safe if a tornado DOES hit, but we are planning to build an underground cellar for that reason.

Anyway, we had to drive over to david's dad's house, about 7 miles away, while we waited out the storm and prayed that our house and animals would be safe, and tracking the storm on the computer over at his place.

I don't have screenshots of the tornado warning right over our property because we were over at Walter's and the above was the last screenshot I captured before we got into our car and drove to safety.

Thank God the most there was, was massive rainfall, winds gusting to 45 mph and pea sized hail.

2 Hours AFTER THE STORM

Thank you, Lord.

Update:

Story and Pictures borrowed from Abilene Reporter News Online:
Sunny afternoon turns severe fast

May 6, 2006

Severe weather returned to the region for the third consecutive night Friday. Most of the Big Country was under a tornado watch early in the afternoon. Storms developed just after 5 p.m. and at 6:55, the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for Callahan County, the first of sixteen such notices also issued for Shackelford, Jones, Taylor, Brown, Coleman, Eastland, and Runnels counties.

Large hail and high winds hammered much of the Big Country Friday night, with threats of tornadoes keeping area residents on their toes.

Despite the threat of tornadoes, most of the volatile activity was in the form of hail up to baseball size, straight-line winds, and heavy rainfall

The Coleman County Sheriff's Office confirmed a brief tornado touchdown near Hords Creek Lake, but damage reports were not immediately available

The Wild Range right next door

We've got horsies!!

Well, NOT US, technically...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

but our neighbors have started a "stabling" business to stable horses and have put up a fence between our property and theirs. ( David misses the 'open range' feel, but my Asian brain likes it coz it's more "organized" )

Verb:
stable
  1. Shelter in a stable
    "stable horses"
It is sooo cool coz we can walk up to the fence several yards away from our house and come right up to the horses.. It's been driving our dogs crazy though. They cannot understand where these huge animals have come from... bark, bark, bark, bark, bark.

Even the resident bunnies are curious.
