Walter, my FIL, turned 90 last week

And he had a grand Pink Hat party

at church, where almost 200 people attended :)

I know there have been fewer posts since the baby arrived, but hopefully I can get my act together to at least get my motherhood blog updated soon, with lots of photos. Bleh. But for now,

"It's Windy outside" is a severe understatement

The wind is wreaking havoc out at our place...

Photobucket

Stuff is blown everywhere and before I can even attempt to survey the damage, the wind comes on again... Our poor greenhouse is taking such a battering, we keep having to make repairs all the time. It's no wonder either. We're in such a windy part of Texas, that the largest windmill farms are just a stone's throw away from our property, literally.

The second day I was at the hospital for the c-section, the wind actually blew the front door of the hospital off its hinges. I kid you not.

And it has continued blowing and blowing. In Malaysia, you'd have to go to the beach to get such wind.. and even then it's a breeze compared to this

Here's part of today's weather alert :

...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 4 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...

VERY STRONG GUSTY WEST WINDS WILL DEVELOP AROUND MID-MORNING. WIND SPEEDS WILL INCREASE TO 35 TO 45 MPH ACROSS THE BIG COUNTRY...WITH SOME GUSTS OVER 50 MPH

A HIGH WIND WARNING MEANS A HAZARDOUS HIGH WIND EVENT IS EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OF 40 MPH OR GREATER AND/OR WIND GUSTS OF 58 MPH OR GREATER CAN LEAD TO PROPERTY DAMAGE.

*sigh*

Time really DOES warp

Baby Jaxon turned a week old yesterday

Photobucket

and I mentioned to David that I had never felt this sore or tired since my internship days, where we were literally slaves to the ward and totally sleep deprived. It has been a whirlwind of erratic sleep-wake cycles, feeding, diaper-changing, burping, pain meds ( the c-section incision is healing well but still, being cut up and shoved on, having your innards messed around with and then stitched back up does leave one sore....), the list goes on...

But Jaxon is such a sweetheart, just one look at that little cherubic face makes it all melt away.

Meanwhile, I have to play catch-up with stuff in real life... i haven't unpacked my hospital bag and that's just the least of it around the house. David has been a darling and his family has been just amazing help and support.

I may blog more as my brain recovers alongside my body, so keep watching this space, although now the ex-preggo-now-parenthood/motherhood blog may get more attention. :)

Here are some photos

that I've already put up on Facebook, and we have changed the spelling of his name to JAXON, so here is he in all his cuteness :)
