A Very Frosty Morning

Given a choice, I probably would tolerate the heat way better than I could the cold, but I do enjoy the colder seasons and miss them when we are in the throes of Summer.

The Morning Walk

We encountered The Road Grader going about servicing our country road this morning.  We see him once in a while, but with our routine being so, well, routine these days, it is nice to see something different once in a while.

Happy Thanksgiving 2020 !

One needs to start Thanksgiving Day with Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, of course!

We had gotten a Roaster Oven over a month ago for some other reasons, but utilized it for Our Turkey. What a delightfully convenient and easy way to roast a turkey!

After I had gotten everything together, the boys helped with the Cranberry Relish, as it is A Very Big Tradition in our home that the boys have a hand in that.

It was quite daunting to prepare all the different dishes by myself, but the boys truly appreciated it, and THAT was all I needed to get it all done :)

Let's see.. Pecan Crusted Sweet Potato Casserole, Cheesy Broccoli Rice, Creamy Spinach Dip, Turkey  Gravy, Croissants, Cranberry Relish and Cornbread Stuffing.

I only made ONE dessert - Mincemeat Pie - which the boys love,

and then I bought one of each of the little Walmart $0.50 cent pies so we could have a taste of just about EVERY flavor of pie without having massive leftovers :)

Sweet Potato Casserole n More.

It is a little overwhelming to be preparing a Thanksgiving Dinner all by myself, but for just our family.  I am  still hoping not to exclude anything that has been tradition, even if we won't be having Thanksgiving with the rest of the family, given how we are still under lockdown.

I've started to prepare as many dishes as I can, leaving a few for in the morning.

You can imagine how many rounds of washing I've had to do.

The Ginormous Outdoor Ornaments Revisited

I finally dusted off the outdoor ornaments and got the boys to hang them outside. We don't have many of them, and so we tried to put them up where they would be most visible :) 

It really was lovely when the boys were all done.

A Month till Christmas!

Even if you didn't know what time of the year it was, the TV stations would certainly steer you in the right direction :)

But then again, I love me some Holiday Baking Championships :)

A Beautiful Morning

 

I am grateful and thankful I live in a place with a superb view of the country and wide open skies. 

An Overcast Day

The Pandemic has severely curtailed our activities, to say the least...

So much so that even an overcast day has a chance to make it onto the blog, for lack of other reportings.

Another Picnic Lunch.

It was another beautiful fall day -  a tad nippy, but the little boy, with his adolescent metabolism, was perfectly happy without any jacket or coat.

A Fall Picnic

The weather was cool but just warm enough, the wind was cooperating.

We decided it would be a lovely day for a picnic lunch outside. :)

Basically, it was just moving brunch out to the lawn onto our little outdoor table :) The little boy had a lovely time, though.
