The Ol' Drinking Water System

Oh, you know, just doing some under-the-sink plumbing.

Well, here we go.

So the first thing I tried out in the Air Fryer was some "fried" chicken drumsticks.

The photos don't do them justice, but they were really good.

Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid

The truth is, the hubs made me get this. For my birthday, I think.

Oh, what adventures will we have now, aye?

Tarantula Encounters Part Deux

We came across another tarantula during our walk.  I don't know if it was the SAME tarantula or not, though :P

Happy Birthday to Us

It is a very low key celebration this year - well, it is a low key celebration EVERY year, but still.

ALSO, since it was my birthday, I thought I'd make something I'D like to eat.

Like some Bak Bao - So I didn't have any yeast, and had to substitute with baking powder and they didn't turn out quite as fluffy, but it still felt somewhat like home :)

Clouds

Over to the West, you can't really tell that much is going on.... until...

you look over to the East, and there's this giant thing looming over you.

If it rains, I only hope it doesn't hail. 🙏

Stormy Weather A-Coming Our Way...

and making for a very interesting sunset.

I believe this is a first for me.

A Tarantula crossed our path while we were on our walk today.  The hubs was surprised that I hadn't seen one before, because apparently, he had seen quite a few in his youth.

We were careful not to agitate it, and let it go on its merry way.

Technically, it's not baking...

But I made something I have never made before, and which I haven't eaten since I came here to the States.

Apam Balik - basically a sort of fluffy turnover-pancake thing that is Southeast Asian snack.

It might not have turned out as well as those that are sold by hawkers, but I thought it was pretty tasty nevertheless.

Bathroom Poinsettia Update

It's now June, and the balding bathroom poinsettia still has a few red leaves hanging on....

I'm still pretty amazed at its longevity so far, and how it's been surviving since fall/winter 2018.

These Big Ol' Sunglasses O'Mine

These over-sized sunglasses belonged to my FIL, Walter.  He would wear them when we brought him out on the good ol' Saturday Excursions, many moons ago.  I believe he got them from the Eye Center where he was treated for macular degeneration.

They work out really well for me because my eyes don't take to bright light very well. These wrap around your face, and there is protection from all sides.

Plus, they go right over my glasses!

Census - Completed

It took the procrastinator in me a while to get it done... but here it is...
