Geomagnetic Storms Galore

We caught some Aurora way down here in Texas from some massive Solar Flare Activity...

The Outdoor Cats have found a New Scratching Post.

We have a couple of Pumpkins outside by the steps, and they have been victims to the outdoor cats.

Silver Streak

I suppose the moon had to be at a certain angle and whatnot, but what it did to the vapor trail was just eerily pretty.

Scratch Art

It is hard to find time sometimes, just to do some leisurely hobby-ish things.  So, I decided to get some Scratch Art pieces from Amazon just for the heck of it.  I guess it lets me relax and resurrect my creative side in a lazy way. I don't have to come up with the art, I just have to scratch it into existence.

Happy Halloween 2025

We had Candy Corn Waffles, Batty Pot Pie, and some breakfast sausage that looked like Darth Vader.

Brigadoon Revisited

Every time this type of fogginess happens, I HAVE to bring up Brigadoon. It was one of our dad's favorite movies - he loved musicals and dancing.  I guess that's where I got my love for the old musicals as well. I remember wishing I could somehow manifest Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire to be my dance instructors, imparting all their grace and strength and nimbleness to me.

The Monarch's Journey

I caught a Monarch Butterfly on its migration, catching some rest and/or food at our place.

Pretty.

The Solitary Fig

Yeah, one measly fig was all we had to harvest. Between the heat and the grasshoppers, nothing much happened, fruit-wise.

We can't help but be proud of the solo little one that hanged on.

The View here, man.

We had an Amazing Golden Sunrise. I caught a Panoramic View of it. Khamazing, I repeat.

The New Instant Pot

The trusty old Instant Pot has finally breathed its last after being used just about every day, sometimes several times a day, since it was bought.

And seeing how indispensable one of thems is, we had to get a replacement right away.

Tada..
It's a little different, but I'm sure the learning curve won't be that bad.

Dang, I really do not like the aging process..

But really, it is a privilege, - especially how I get to spend it with such a sweet sweet young man.

The Plant Nook

The potted plants are elevated to try to at least keep them a little bit out of reach of the ****** grasshoppers.

We have a little light that is timed to come on as the sun goes down, and turns off as the sun comes up.

In the twilights, it gives this really cool and soothing glow.

In Case You Have Been Wondering How Silky is Doing

Here's His Royal Highness in all his glory, just Chillaxing.

Caught in the Act

So I was out early this morning and caught a deer chomping on our Prickly Pear fruit.

I might not be a hardcore Jane Austen fan, but

and this 2009 adaptation of Emma remains one of my favorite ones of her work, which I go back and watch almost annually, and the soundtrack is just so delightfully lovely.

More Clouds

One advantage of living out here in the country is the large open sky we get to enjoy.

Loving the Steve Moments

When the (now) young man was little, we would watch Blue's Clues, with Steve.

However, Steve later "went off to college" and got replaced by his "brother", Joe.

By the time the reboot with "Josh" came along, the little boy was already a little young man, and we never caught any of it.

Steve will always be the OG host for us, and that little video he made a few years back, where he told us he never forgot us, gave me, a fully grown ( er, middle aged?) woman, quite the feels.

These days, I have started listening to Steve's Podcast, "Alive with Steve Burns", and I hardly listen to podcasts. To be fair tho, I WATCH it on YTube.  There have only been 2 "episodes" so far, but they are sweet, quiet and reflective, and I like them.

In the episode with Jamie Lee Curtis, he talked about being someone who "morphs" ( my word, not his ) to fit in with the crowd he is in, for acceptance and like that .... and I often feel like I am that way too. I shall not elaborate more, but just leave it here.

Takeaways from that episode, i.e. Steve's notes from his conversation with JML, who obviously adores him as well... :

"Be where your feet are"

"What other people think of you is not your business"

"Maybe it's not about giving no s**ts,  maybe it's about deciding which s**ts to give. "

"Your attention ( a finite resource) is your currency, and what you spend it on, matters."

Looking forward to the ?weekly Podcasts and insights. Keep 'em coming, Steve.

Cloud Watching

I think this one looks like a Phoenix. If anyone disagrees, well, I can only say "It's probably in the eye of The Beholder."
