Christmas 2019

The little boy woke us up appropriately early for Christmas, full of his little boy excitement and enthusiasm...and couldn't wait to go through every wrapped gift.

He DID get some things from his Wish List, which he was incredibly happy about...along with some others that were surprises...

A slide whistle, a squishy cat toy,

Cat Christmas Socks,

a Gravity Falls t-shirt, a Sans from Undertales t-shirt and a Cat hoodie sweater thingy.

A Dungeons and Dragons Beginner's Set,

Lego Marvel Avengers Xbox Game...which saw action almost immediately,

Origami Marvel Heroes, seeing how the boy loves crafting...

But we had one more gift waiting outside.......

which was the biggest surprise of all, and boy, was he excited to get going on that thing :)

As for me, I was happy to have new cheery kitchen towels :)

Merry Christmas One and All, and have a Blessed Year ahead.

Christmas Lane and Lights around Town

It's a tradition with our little family, what can I say.. and it seems like we always somehow end up going close to when they are going to close up the displays.

It is oddly comforting to see the same displays, well, on display year after year.
We have seen this Charlie Brown one just about every time we are here.

Of course, another thing we have to do is stop by the exhibit building,

walk through the strings of lights,

and put in a phone call to Santa's Workshop :)

Then we go inside, and it's the familiar train tracks going through the Christmas Village...

and a host of Animatronic displays.

There was one wreath, though, that was, no offence, a little disturbing....

Afterwards, we went a-gallivanting around town to the er, "more well to-do" part of town to take in their elaborate and beautiful lights.

And then, there is the one house we absolutely HAVE to go by each year, just because it is extremely ...... ornate.

Our local Ford Dealership also has an annual display in its lobby area, but in past years, we had only been able to take a peek in from outside.

This year, however, they were still tending to a client, and so had not locked their doors.

Opportunists that we were, we walked right in and ooh'd and aah'd at the displays we had never gotten to see.

It was certainly quite the eye-opener, and we went along home happily.

Happy Birthday Sky Scarlet!

Contrails over Abilene

The Christmas Tree is up!

Breakfast with Santa 2019

We dropped by Southern Hills Church of Christ to bring the little boy to their annual Breakfast with Santa event.

It was a rare treat to have ACTUAL bacon. LOL.

After breakfast, we dove right into the craft-making, which the little boy loves.
There were stations for making "Reindeer Treats",

Christmas Ornaments,

Hand-Print nativity scene,

Glow in the Dark Stars,

Cookie Decorating,

and Slime-making.

Before we left, we just HAD to stop by the playground for a few minutes of outdoor fun :)
