Christmas Lane and Lights around Town

It's a tradition with our little family, what can I say.. and it seems like we always somehow end up going close to when they are going to close up the displays.

It is oddly comforting to see the same displays, well, on display year after year.
We have seen this Charlie Brown one just about every time we are here.

Of course, another thing we have to do is stop by the exhibit building,

walk through the strings of lights,

and put in a phone call to Santa's Workshop :)

Then we go inside, and it's the familiar train tracks going through the Christmas Village...

and a host of Animatronic displays.

There was one wreath, though, that was, no offence, a little disturbing....

Afterwards, we went a-gallivanting around town to the er, "more well to-do" part of town to take in their elaborate and beautiful lights.

And then, there is the one house we absolutely HAVE to go by each year, just because it is extremely ...... ornate.

Our local Ford Dealership also has an annual display in its lobby area, but in past years, we had only been able to take a peek in from outside.

This year, however, they were still tending to a client, and so had not locked their doors.

Opportunists that we were, we walked right in and ooh'd and aah'd at the displays we had never gotten to see.

It was certainly quite the eye-opener, and we went along home happily.
