My Wildflower Bouquet

They don't last very long once they're plucked, but they do brighten up a space significantly while they still bloom.

Finally.

It is amazing how much I depend on my 'puter every day for so many things - mainly homeschooling, some video editing and grocery shopping, I suppose.

But Mainly Homeschooling. *sigh*

Indian Blankets

The hubs calls them Indian Paintbrushes - a term he says he heard them being called as he was growing up - but I think those may technically be another type of wildflower.

ANYWAY, A Rose by Any Other Name Would Smell As Sweet, and these happen to be one of his favorites.  Who can blame him?  They are gorgeous out in the field.

Wildflower Season

It's always nice after The Bleakness of Winter, to have things burst into life - MOWING, however, is an entirely different story - with all the different types of wildflowers in their array of colors and diverse petal shapes.

Okay, okay ... so they're mainly different shades of yellow. But Still.

Sweet Roses

Our roses are still hanging on even after being decimated year after year by Grasshoppers.
Those that do make it are still wonderfully lovely and fragrant :)

The Total Solar Eclipse of 2024

So.. we decided to travel a few hours yesterday, to be in a place where we could see the Total Solar Eclipse in all its Totality Glory.

Even though we were going to experience 97% if we had just stayed put, we thought that it would be a real and true shame NOT to travel a little to get to where the totality was for an experience of a lifetime.

We drove till we were well within the band of totality and managed to find a really good spot to stop on the State Highway, where they were working on expanding the road.

The guys were also chillin' in the shade, waiting on the Eclipse and we got their "OK" to park where we did.

There was a really pretty patch of bluebonnets and other wildflowers where we stopped.

The eerie calmness and darkness during the Moments of Totality.. It lasted a little more than 3 minutes, and we were just in awe.

I didn't manage to get a good photo with my phone, but it was A Truly Magical  Experience all three of us would never forget.

Yeah, Riiiiiight.

I wish Scammers would stop sending me random messages and photos that are so obviously stolen.... and calling me Anna.

Whatsapping with Mummy

It has become quite the Sunday Morning Tradition.

Calling up Mummy and talking to her for about an hour while she tells me all that she has been up to while I do my morning walk.

I am only sorry we didn't start this much earlier than we have, but it's been just fabulous :)
