Keeping It Local
I've mentioned that Grandad's knees can't really take long journeys, and so we've been doing short jaunts, keeping near Abilene. A little over a month ago, we went to the Grace Museum with Grandad, to view an exhibition on Ansell Adams' work.
I "drove" Jaxon around, while David "drove" his dad.
Jaxon was quite impressed with fun "Sound Wall" where you make music by touching the different pieces of wood art on the wall.
There was a little corner with a couple of saddles and costumes where little ones could dress up as cowboys and have their picture taken.
Our little boy did NOT want his picture taken.
He promptly escaped and was spotted seconds later, running through a hallway, shrieking.
While the men were admiring fine art, Jaxon and I found our way to the Children's Museum part of the Grace, which I think Jaxon much rather prefered, judging from all the climbing and "gamboling"
All in all, it was a great short little trip :)

Looks like a fun outing!
The Texas Land Office Museum in Austin has a place where kiddos can dress up and get on the saddle, too. Caitlin (13) was none too keen on dressing up. Too bad we didn't have James with us.
