Just Spring Doing Its Thing

It's been raining quite a bit, being spring and all.

We've been doing our daily walk under our umbrellas, and our rain gauge tells us we got about 4 inches of rain this time.

Ugh, looks like it's time to mow again.

We planted these so many years ago, but year after year, they still bring such joy.  There were a few years when they didn't flower for some reason, but now they are back with a vengeance :)

I know I am a little late in starting the seeds for our vegetable patch, but oh well. Fingers Crossed!

Meanwhile, The Roses have started blooming and I can also see so many unopened potentially beautiful roses all over. :)

Future Vegetable Patch

I've more or less cleaned out the area that I'm designating as the "Vegetable Patch", where there will be tomatoes, watermelon, chives and potatoes, perhaps?

I will still have to lay down the landscape fabric / weed barrier thingy, but that will be a breeze compared to all the weeding I had to do. 

Here's looking forward to homegrown veges!

Little Pots of Chive - wild and just planted seeds - among Iris leaves make me happy.

Everything is REALLY greening up, an the mesquite have put out their leaves.

The early lime green shoots are quite a sight after dreary colorless winters.

Here's our big batch of dipped, drawn on, stickered, and shrink-wrapped eggs.

We had a little Easter Egg Hunt in the yard for the Not-So-Little Boy, and then HE hid the eggs for ME to hunt :)
