Bad Watermelon, Bad Watermelon!

We bought a yellow watermelon from United the other day, and when I cut into it, a bunch of its parts were mushy and white and kinda spiderwebby, and when I removed them with a spoon, all that was left was NOT MUCH.

Needless to say, we brought it back for a refund.

Accidental Hologram

The hubs was in the bathroom and suddenly hollered, "HOLOGRAM!".

We all got into the bathroom, and saw that the reflection of the skylight onto the convex glass sink had made an optical illusion that looked very much like a hologram :)

I couldn't capture it in the photo, but to our eyes, it was very believable indeed.

Just another sunset out here in West Texas

Eggstraordinarily Eggcellent.

I have been buying Jumbo Eggs, especially now that the price of eggs have come back down, Thank Goodness.

We have been getting a bunch of double yolkers,

but the other day, we got one with an Embryo-Looking Appendage to its yolk!

I was quite curious, but unfortunately, by the time I got it out of my eggs, it had been partially cooked, and quite impossible to dissect into, given the limited equipment that I have.

Nevertheless, it was quite the Eggsperience.

Magnificent Clouds

I don't look forward to the hail or severe winds that they bring, but you can't deny that they are quite magnificent, aye?

And I am loving my Star Wars Meets Doctor Who T shirt muchly, even though I have hair that is ridiculously lacking in body in this shot.

Malabar Spinach

Happiness is finding some Malabar Spinach at the Filipino Store.

When I was little, and lived in a corner shoplot house, and there were these vines that would grow on the fence.

I remember the first time either my mom or grandmother plucked them and made some soup with them... They imparted a sliminess to the soup, which I thought was a little strange, but it tasted good.

Now, whenever I chance upon them at the Filipino Store, I always try to get some and make some soup with them, as they remind me of home :)
