Halloween Day !!

Our first stop for the evening was our neighbor, Charles' house for a spot of trick or treating,

then it was off to Lytle South Baptist Church.

We hadn't been there before, and they were serving SNO CONES on a very cold cold night :)

We went and visited a few neighborhood homes,

and then it was off to Mamo's house,

and then to Donna Gee's to visit with her and Cindy.

It has once again been quite the Halloween "season", but seeing how the little boy enjoyed himself at every venue was more than worth it.

A Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

After meeting with the family at McDonald's, we set off to the Pumpkin Patch, seeing how it was literally the last day we would be able to do so.

It was a beautiful cloudless day, with amazing blue skies and bright sunshine.

The little boy had to pose as usual for photographs for his Papparazzi and Mammarazzi parents, but he was usually glad to.

I really have no idea what the thought was in this next one, tho. :D Such the grouchy look :)

Love you, little boy.

Cindy's Home!

We stopped by McDonald's today to catch up with Cindy, Judith, Frances and Allen, as well as Charles and Walter.

It was great for Jaxon to get to see Allen - good grief, these boys are growing tall.

And it is always a fun time when the siblings get together.

Early Morning Frost

This is super freaky weather for October, when we are just BARELY recovering from the relentless onslaught of SUMMER.

BUT, it was quite nice to wake up to a layer of frost on everything. So pretty.

Halloween 2019 Part III

Firstly, we stopped by the Family Life Center over at the First Baptist Church, with its huge indoor facilities,

and then it was off to Southern Hills Church of Christ,

And finally, Rise Church, where we had never been, but was a friendly and interesting place.

Halloween 2019 Part II

Abilene Police Department,

The police department had relocated to where the old K-Mart had been, and after erroneously stopping at the old police department headquarters, we realised our mistake and were finally on the right track.

Mall-o-Ween,

I don't think we had ever brought the little boy to the Mall for Mall-O-Ween before, but since we were out, we stopped by there for a few minutes.  There was quite the crowd, and we got to visit the nice library branch in there.

and our final stop for the night was Baker Heights Church of Christ.

We got there at the tail end of their festivities, and managed to get a few activities in before they started packing up for the night.

Halloween 2019 Part 1 Continued Oldham Lane, Safety City & Hamby

There were also a few other Fall Festival/Halloween celebrations around town, and we stopped by

Oldham Lane Church of Christ,

Safety City,

and finally, the Hamby Pumpkin Fest.

It was quite a tiring Saturday afternoon, for sure. :)

Halloween 2019 Part 1 Boo at the Zoo

So our first outing for Halloween this year was at The Abilene Zoo.
I finally went with those little commercial Halloween Makeup Kits you buy at Walmart.
It worked out quite well.

The event this year was broken up into 2 whole different days over 2 weeks. So, by the time we got there, it wasn't so crazy crowded like it would have been in past years.

The little boy is getting up there in height ( >99th percentile ) but he still loves to do the bounce castles as if he was 5 again :)

After that, we started wandering into the Zoo proper, stopping to look at the animals along the way.

And of course, scattered hither and tither on the grounds were some more booths we could stop at.

The giraffe display is always a favorite.

The little boy asked permission to roll down the little hillock, and when I said, "sure", he wasted no time.

There were plenty of photo ops,

and plenty of exotic animals to view.

When we came around the corner back to the lake, we knew we were coming to the end of the day there.

We stopped by and fed the ever-hungry fish,

stopped at a few more booths,

took a short rest indoors,

and just HAD to stop by the giant sand pit/box.

See ya laterz, Abilene Zoo.
