So our first outing for Halloween this year was at The Abilene Zoo.
I finally went with those little commercial Halloween Makeup Kits you buy at Walmart.
It worked out quite well.
The event this year was broken up into 2 whole different days over 2 weeks. So, by the time we got there, it wasn't so crazy crowded like it would have been in past years.
The little boy is getting up there in height ( >99th percentile ) but he still loves to do the bounce castles as if he was 5 again :)
After that, we started wandering into the Zoo proper, stopping to look at the animals along the way.
And of course, scattered hither and tither on the grounds were some more booths we could stop at.
The giraffe display is always a favorite.
The little boy asked permission to roll down the little hillock, and when I said, "sure", he wasted no time.
There were plenty of photo ops,
and plenty of exotic animals to view.
When we came around the corner back to the lake, we knew we were coming to the end of the day there.
We stopped by and fed the ever-hungry fish,
stopped at a few more booths,
took a short rest indoors,
and just HAD to stop by the giant sand pit/box.
See ya laterz, Abilene Zoo.
