Happy Thanksgiving, One and All

May everyone have a blessed Thanksgiving

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food,
For love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.

- Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)

Friday with Da Boyz

Cindy had a school meeting to go to

on Friday ( Boooo ) so I ended up having brunch with the boys at The Skillet ( not too shabby.. *grin* ) instead of my fave, A Taste of Asia noodle house, and not playing Upwords Scrabble. ( Hisssss !)

However, today David and I went to Lowe's to redeem a free Kobalt 6-in-1 screwdriver - my latest freebie, among others :). ( Yay!!!)

And when we were driving home, a neighbor's dog had run out onto the main highway and David had to rescue it, after which we brought it back to the neighbor's house. ( Awwwww ! )

Micah 6:8

What does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God.

Oooo What a Week !!

My mom was in Abilene,

visiting us for about a week, and it has been a whirlwind week! What a fabulous time we had, having her here with us. We had just sent her off early this morning ( er, I hadn't woken up at 5 a.m. on purpose in a LONG time ) and she arrived safely in California right before noon. Anyway, we're still "recuperating" and missing her sooo much, and getting photos organized and all that good goop. What a blessing indeed it is, to get to spend time with my wonderful, sweet, kind, exuberant mommy!

"They will celebrate your abundant goodness
and joyfully sing of your righteousness."

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.

A Trip to the Scrap Yard

We're having to expand our "kitty premises"

and although we love Lowe's to death, some stuff you just can't get there, or if you could, they'd be way more than what we could afford to pay for the materials ( We DID buy a fence section from them and it was 40 something dollars!! ) EGAD.

Anyway, we had gone and gotten metal roofing / material from this guy before - he's a pretty nice man of about 85 years of age or so, and thought we'd drop by while we were doing our "necessities shopping" rounds yesterday.

It's neat how even a scrap yard could make for some pretty cool photos.

I thought I'd also make a digital scrapbook of the pictures. It's really interesting, and I may continue to explore this for a bit..... This time, 5 pages to the set, also with embedded music..
