Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2016

The little boy and I have covered MLK Jr. Day in years past in our studies.  This year was not different, as we covered just a little bit more material than previous years.  What threw me for a loop this year however, was the little boy suddenly turned to me and said, "Mommy, are there any events for MLK Jr. Day in Abilene?"

Well, there is an annual march/walk over the MLK Jr. Bridge in Abilene.  The hubs and I discussed it, and decided we would go this year.

We arrived just about on time, but the march had started.  

We caught up eventually, 

and soaked in the positivity radiating off everyone there.  

I'm glad the little boy gets to be a part of something bigger than ourselves and that we get to incorporate what we have around us into our school work.

Throwback Tuesday

We had these glorious days in December - what with Fall arriving supremely late and everything - and even now in the "Dead'O'Winter", there is lush green grass around our house. Hoy.

ANYWAY, we went to the playground a few times when the leaves were at their most glorious :)

The Slump

Well, that's a fine way to start the year off, Letticia! 16 days since your last post. Shame on you!

In my (weak) defence, tho, I've been having a horrific cough - so much so it's even been causing some intercostal strain and whatnot, and feeling pretty bleh with a cold.

I've got some photos lined up and hopefully be posting again before long.

T'is the Season Part 9

Christmas Day

The little boy woke up with much excitement, and eager anticipation of what was inside those stockings!

They came with a personal little gift tag!

He got a bunch of stuff from his wish list - including a bunch of Stampy and Minecraft items.

Then, it was time to see what loot was waiting for us under the tree!

This year, there was even a pedal car!

Thank you, Uncle Carter & Aunt Winnie for the gifts as well!

Afterwards, it was off for Christmas lunch at Stephanie's house, where the whole Wilson Clan was assembled, great grandchildren and all.

I made and brought turkey pigs-in-a-blanket, guacamole and some Reese's peanut butter chocolate bars for dessert.

Jaxon exchanged gifts with his cousins, and had loads of fun playing over there - he especially loves their PonyCycle.

Oh yes, and after all that food and fun, it's time to retreat to the new baby's room and have some good ol' rest. :)
