The Woods Christmas Tree 2018

This year, we got a small little fake tree. I cannot say it wasn't what I had wanted all along.
I know there are all the Feels that are connected with a real live tree, but I have just about had it with pine needles and whatnot.

I also decided that other than lights, the only items that were going to be on there were either ornaments that the little boy had made through the years, or ones that he had picked out himself.

We had received our Made to Order Ornament of the Year, and decided that instead of a Big Old Lighted Star on top of the tree, I would use this beautiful Star Fish instead :)

I LOVE our tree this year :)

Christmas Lane Part 1

We had checked online and thought that we could make it on time ... and when we got there, it was like a Ghost Town.

There was NO LINE, which in itself was like The Twilight Zone or some unrecognizable Alternate Dimension.

Anyway, we took our time going through the exhibits, since there weren't any cars behind us to make us feel pressured to get going.

Finally, when we reached the Indoor Area, we found that they were closed. Apparently, they had closed earlier than what was advertised on their Facebook Page.

ANYWAY, we decided that we would still make the best of it, and go by the house across the street that probably has the most decorations of any home in Abilene,

 Arrow Ford ....

and THAT home with the Double Lions.

Sky Scarlet Turns 3!

Sky Scarlet turned 3 and we were there to help celebrate this amazing bundle of energy!

First of all, I love it when The Little Boy gets to hang out with his cousins, especially those who are closer in age to him - Max is 6 months older, and Jet is about 10 months younger.
and this time, Max and Jet were eager to show The Little Boy a new game they had acquired, The Legend of Zelda. :D
Moments like these just totally make my heart smile really big :)
After a few minutes, Sky came out in her Pretty Party Dress, all ready to rock and roll :D
We had gotten her a few gifts, and The Little Boy made a custom drawing on The Gift Bag, which I thought was absolutely ADORABLE seeing how theme of the party was The Trolls.

We also loved getting to catch up with Mammo and Uncle Jim, who are always the sweetest people ever.

Just look at The Birthday Girl surrounded by all these Beaming Big Brothers, Cousins and Friends!
I just love this look on her face as she started unwrapping her presents. Such pure surprised delight.
There was no shortage of big brothers to lend a hand helping her tackle her loot :)
She wasted no time putting on her new Troll outfit..
 And looked just amazingly precious.
 Happy Birthday, Sky Scarlet!
Never stop being the darling that you are!

Breakfast with Santa 2018

We joined Southern Hills Church of Christ for their first ever Breakfast with Santa event, much to the little boy's delight.

He insisted on going in his PJs, and I suppose I didn't protest too much :)

We were very impressed that there were Blueberries and Strawberries...
Of course, the little boy couldn't wait to be done with the Breakfast part, and go on to the Craft Stations.
First, there was the Station for Making Reindeer Food.  The little girl next to him was not sure about putting glitter into the concoction as she didn't want any of the Reindeer to get sick.
We managed to catch one of the Santa Sessions..
And the little boy got to have a little chat with Santa and Mrs. Claus..
And then it was off to more crafty fun!
This particular craft involved a hot glue gun, so I quickly joined in to help with that bit.

I was more than glad for him to do the rest of it by himself.
AND I have just noticed I have a strange blue border around this photo. Oh well.
Next was Candy Cane Beads,
Sacks to hold your creations.. ( which we should have started off here first )
 Cookie Decorating,

 And finally, making SLIME!
The kids were very helpful, and we appreciated all their pointers.

Till next year, Santa!

What will they think of next

Toboggans and Snow Boards for Sale in Abilene.

Where it HARDLY ever snows, and when it does, there is barely a dusting, mostly.

( edit : I just looked it up : The Average Annual Snowfall in Abilene Tx is 4 inches.....4 inches in an entire year! )

Nevertheless, I am curious how many they actually sold.

Maybe people bought them and used them elsewhere. You never know.
