since the last time I was in Chinatown, San Francisco in summer 2003.
There was a gathering of mainly Asian students tonight in the home of a local Abilene Church of Christ member and it was lotsa fun, meeting new people, having chinese dumplings and receiving ang pow ( red packets )!!
Can't wait till the 9th and 15th day of the Chinese New Year...(stay tuned)

Hey .... did somebody mentioned dumplings? My old time favorite. Lucky they have ready-made ones nowadays. Just plunge them into the hot water or deep fry it or steam it! Easy!
Yadda yadda... I see spring rolls... you make me crave for spring rolls :)

Oo that food sounds yummy. What do you get in the red packets? They sound brill. Hugs
Tonight here the chinese people started the new year. It was a pitty that there was a huge storm and loads of rain, so we don't know if they have been able to have some firework. I understand there will be a couple of gatherings throughout the country here to celebrate.
Happy New Year!!!
on the first night of Chinese new year, I wasn't at my boyfriends, so I got a pint of wonton and ate it in my car on the way to the drug store, much to my surprise I save the plastic containers & it has the Chinese astrology signs on it!!! I was thrilled! all my billionsof other containers are plain!!!
Wow ... I was so happy seeing the photos of this post, which really bring some CNY atomsphere to me! The food looked delicious.
